All That and a Bag of Chips

Okay, so I know the title is kind of weird, but in my family, when someone is considered hot shit, we say, “They’re all that and a bag of chips.” I have no idea where it came from. I doubt if anyone would want to claim the credit for it anyway! Everyone looks up to Ascended Masters like Jesus and Buddha, and I’ve had so many requests from people to ask about this elite class of spirits.

By the way, join me tomorrow at 11 AM PT/1 PM CT/2 PM ET on the wonderful show, Journey to the Center of Tammy where I’ll discuss the new book and many other things. Click HERE.

One last thing, my youngest turned 21 on Monday! I can’t believe I didn’t announce it. I guess because we’re not going to celebrate her birthday until Saturday. I’m trying to figure out what to do to surprise her and am coming up empty. This book launch has wiped my brain cleaner than Hillary’s server. Yes, I said it. Annika’s roommates filled her room with balloons, each with a special message on it, and are taking her out to dinner tomorrow. Any ideas, guys? And no, not gonna do the clown or bouncy house.

Me: This is from a blog member. Tell us about the Ascended Masters. How does a spirit become one? There are other questions, too.

Erik: Most of us can’t wait to become Ascended Masters because we get a gold-plated toaster.

Me: Oh!

Robert and I laugh.

Me: Ha ha. Sure.

Robert: He just can’t wait to get that toaster.

Me: Oh boy.

Erik: I’m just kidding.

Me: What are you going to do with toast?

Erik: What do we need with gold, for that matter? Nah, I’m kidding in case you didn’t know.

Me: Yeah, I figured that out pretty quickly.

Erik: Ascended Masters. Well, first off, we’re all the same level. There are no higher or lower, ascended or descended.

Me: Okay.

Erik: We don’t go around acting all pious, and we don’t go treating other spirits with piety—

Robert: I never heard you use that word, Erik.

Erik: Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we don’t treat them differently just because they have a greater depth of awareness in some areas. But if you want to call a spirit that, it has to do with their awareness. How deep is their ocean?

Me: Ah!

Erik: Now we, as an individual soul, can connect to that and become a part of that for a period of time, but we ultimately have to go through our own levels of experience to get that depth. That’s what these “Ascended Masters” have already done.

Me: Can you reiterate that? What exactly have they gone through?

Erik: Many lifetimes or experiences whether while they’re in the physical or nonphysical world throughout infinite dimensions to develop awareness that is very deep.

Me: So they have a broader, deeper sense of awareness about things that you, as Erik, can get but it takes effort.

Erik: To put it simply, yes. I can connect to them when I speak to them. I connect with that awareness, but it’s like watching a television show. It might introduce me to ideas that then I can go and pursue to develop my level of depth, but it’s not really—

Me: Your own?

Erik: Experiential. You have to live the life and walk through it.

I guess it’s like watching Kung Fu on TV. You get an idea of how it works, but you can’t actually kick ass with it.

Me: It’s like you can take the chemistry class, but you have to take the lab to totally get it.

Erik: Right. That’s a great way to put it. The way you can recognize an Ascended Master, if you want to call them that again, in the physical world is they’re able to take something very complicated and make it simple.

Me: Oh. Wonderful.

Erik: They know how to tease the threads off a big ball of yarn so you can see the thread rather than the ball.

Me: That takes a lot of wisdom.

Erik: Fuck yeah.

Me: How many Ascended Masters are there?

Erik: Too many to count, really.

Me: So like—

Erik: I’ll put it this way if you’re looking for numbers. If every planet in this solar system were populated by the same number of people as on Earth, and you spread that out over a hundred solar systems, that’s how many there are. That’s a lot.

Me: Yeah, that’s a lot!

Erik: Billions upon billions upon billions.

Me: Do you think you’ll every become one, Erik?

Erik: I’m working on it. We all are.

Me: I remember you said you were being trained to become one.

Erik: Right.

Me: So, how’s it going?

Erik: Great, but I have my days when I get a little frustrated and would rather go play.

Me: Sure.

Some things never change.

Erik: Guess what I’m learning, though.

Me: What?

Erik: Those periods where I feel I need to go play are exactly what I need to become an “Ascended Master.” My teachers know that, too. They know that it’s not all about work that you’re aware of as being work.

Me: Right.

Erik: It’s about play, too.

Me: It’s about all experiences.

Erik: All of it. So when I’m feeling frustrated, then that feeling is only there to let me know that I’m holding on to something that you might label as “dense.” It makes me think, ‘Maybe I should look at that.’ I can choose to do that or let that shit go.

Me: Yeah. So how close are you to becoming one?

Erik: I still have some to go. Every time I think I’m pretty close, I realize the line is even longer or actually infinite. “Ascended Masters” is all a matter of perspective. I might look at a spirit and think of it as an Ascended Master, but from its perspective, they still have an infinite number of experiences they might need.

Me: So it’s a graduated process.

Erik: Yeah, and subjective to the individual spirit.

Me: Are you happy with where you are now in your training and evolution?

Erik: Yeah, but like I said, I still get frustrated sometimes, but I’ve shed some of that frustration like when I used to get irritated at people who I wanted to help but they didn’t want that help. I’ve learned to let all that shit go. I’ll use the example of a person I think I have to “save.” If you stop and think about it, he or she can’t die so there’s nothing to save! Nobody really needs to be saved. It took me a long time to get that one, and now that I do, I don’t get all that frustrated with humans. Before, I was like, ‘Oh, I don’t want them to die, or I don’t want them to suffer,’ but I realized that if they’re suffering, they’re learning something in the process, and if they do shed their physical body, they’re still eternal.’ But then I switched it to, ‘Well, what about all the ripples? Oh, we got to stop those ripples.’ But I realize now that ripples are going to happen no matter what.

Me: Yeah, that’s true. So you’ve learned a lot!

Erik: Yeah.

Me: So, any spirit can become an Ascended Master?

Erik: Yep.

Me: So that means they do incarnate. That was one of the other questions. Some people think they never incarnate kind of like archangels.

Erik: Some of them never do, but there are no rules about it.

Me: Are there any Ascended Masters in my life?

Erik: Your dad’s dad.

Me: Oh, the abuelito! Interesting. Anyone else?

Erik: That’s the closest.

Me: What about Robert?

Erik (smiling): He wishes!

Me: I knew you were going to say that!

Erik: He’s pretty high up on the totem pole, though.

Me: Yeah, toss Robert a bone!
