Erik Plays Freaky Alien Noises

Here’s another story from a blog member. Very cool indeed.

The very day I subscribed to the Blog, Erik did the following (and saved the best for last!):

1. I had just read the Pennies/Dimes from Heaven posts and found a quarter in the park while walking my dog (possibly just a coincidence).

2. I received a “junk” email from one of those companies that locates people (MyLife) that had the name of my friend Eileen who died last year but listed my email address under her name. Weird! Then I received another email from someone who has never emailed me before but I had been thinking a lot about lately (she works in the metaphysical community). Hadn’t seen her in 15 years or so, so again, very strange timing.

3. I was up late that night reading in bed. It was 1:30 a.m. All of a sudden a very weird loud electronic noise cutting in/cutting out came from my living room. It sounded like aliens or something. I was pretty scared and my heart was pounding. I couldn’t tell what it was–I knew it wasn’t the TV or computer (which were off). It didn’t sound like music or anything familiar. It sounded like someone trying to tune in to a radio with a dial and just getting static and bits and pieces of random noise. My husband was asleep and I couldn’t wake him up. I was too scared to investigate. I told Erik out loud to knock it off…that was too scary. Then the weird noise stopped. I imagined Erik was laughing his ass off!

4. The next morning at 8:30 a.m. my husband and I both awoke to loud music playing in our living room. This time I wasn’t scared…it was daytime, and you could hear that it was music. We both looked at each other like, “What’s that?!” I came into the living room and heard the music coming from a wireless speaker. The kicker is that it was playing the end of Lyle Lovett’s “Simple Song,” and the exact lyrics playing were “Remember part of me is you.” I started laughing…Erik is so clever! I said out loud, “Good one, Erik!”

My husband couldn’t figure out what was going on and how it happened. He had left his cell phone in our bedroom all night and so the wireless speaker was all of a sudden picking up the connection and playing a song from his playlist. I told him to try not to figure it out, that a ghost did it.

Of course, I asked for Erik to prank me, and he got me good. Oh, by the way, I graduated from the same high school as Erik in Houston (a long time ago) but I now live in Austin.
