The Family that gets Pranked Together, Stays Together!

This is a good one! (Oh, and Erik was a terrible dancer!)

***I’d prefer to keep this anonymous! 🙂 Sorry this is long but it comes full circle!***

Hello Elisa! I’ve had some recent experiences with your son Erik, I believe, that I feel like I should share! I’m nervous at how it will sound but here goes!

I did find your videos with Jamie on youtube awhile back and watched some interviews with fascination, not realizing there was a corresponding blog. A couple of months later I guess I went back to the videos and followed a link to the blog. I think like Erik has said, I found my way there because I needed to. I was being worn down by a “friendship” and needed the resolve to deal with it. A lot of the blog posts I found helped give me the strength to do it and I outright asked Erik for guidance.

Prior to reading much about his pranks, my family had gotten into my husband’s car one Saturday and it reeked with so many rotten smells that my husband and I joked that it was like some kids had taken it for a joyride during the night, though that was not the case. We were so perplexed. Cigarettes, dirty laundry, smelly feet–you name it, it smelled like all of that for no reason at all! We bought the car slightly used and thought the warm rain was unveiling something hidden that the dealership had tried to mask!

A couple of weeks later when I read more about the pranks Erik likes to do, I spoke to him out loud and said, “Sure you can do a prank on me, but I have conditions—NOT in my bedroom, no stinky smells, and nothing that is going to make me think I’m going nuts looking for something I need.” Not long after that, one early morning my family heard my cell phone ringing. My cell phone is usually downstairs at night. I followed the ringing and I found my cell phone in the bottom of a paper tote bag of clothes that I had collected to donate, JUST OUTSIDE my bedroom door. There is really no way my cell phone would have ended up in there. And the number that called me alerting me to look for my cell phone? Something bogus- Unavailable. No msg left. So Erik hid my phone, but alerted me to finding it w/o me going nuts looking for it that morning, and he kept the prank out of my bedroom. He was a good boy that day! 🙂

As I read even more about his pranks and the stinky smells especially–I realized that one-time crazy smelling car day could have been him. And as I’m writing this, I just heard something fall in my bathroom. No one is home but me! Confirmation, LOL?

Then I watched the recent video on pranks. Well my next 4 days were spooky-fun! That day, I sat down for 2 minutes to take a break and watch the tv that had already been on. As I sat down the whole tv went to static and basically my cable reset itself on its own, out of nowhere! I don’t think that has ever happened before! I laughed and assumed it was Erik! Then we went away for a few days. At our hotel, our daughter put the key card in the door and when the green light came on letting us know the door was unlocked, her light-up shoes lit up too, even though she had them firmly planted on the floor. Cute, Erik! The next day, my husband went down for coffee in the morning and when we were ready to leave the room later he couldn’t find his key card. He checked his wallet. It was nowhere out in plain sight and I finally told him that this was Erik–that the card was in his wallet but ‘masked.’ He couldn’t find it. We left knowing I had my key card. Later on that day…well, well, well my husband found the card right in his wallet. I laughed. Good one, Erik!

And I thought, “Wow! How lucky that with so many blog followers, Erik was spending his time pranking my family!” That night, my daughter woke up in the middle of the night talking and the only thing I understood her say was, “the boy who follows us everywhere we go.” Since he followed us on our vacation, well I’m thinking she was talking about him. The next morning, she did not remember saying that, but she did remember a dream that night where a young TV Disney star (Erik’s age) was asking her to teach him how to do a special dance that she does. She said it felt so real. I had also recently read what Erik had to say about dreams. So is it okay if my suspicion is that it might have been Erik in the dream, presenting himself as someone ‘familiar’ to her? She said he was silly in the dream and bad at the dance. LOL! I’m going to leave out the type of dancing it was, in case Erik ever wants to verify it was him.

Once back home, I was making a friendship bracelet with my daughter, when we heard one of her toys going off upstairs. It played sort of a mantra/song that I had previously associated with the aforementioned “friendship.” I sent my husband up to find the toy, both of us now vocalizing this was the work of Erik. He said it was buried down enough in a bin that there was no real reason for it to go off suddenly. It has a hard on/off switch and buttons to push from there to get to that particular song.

While driving in my car alone recently, I was suddenly thinking of dear Erik. As I absentmindedly changed radio stations, I tuned into this song that was playing and really listened. It was Green Day’s “When I Come Around” – Seems fitting enough for him!

I hope Erik knows how thankful I am for his help. And I’m thankful to you too, Elisa and Jamie (and the other mediums) for sharing Erik’s messages and helping him to help others. So nice to share in the connection!
