Hijacked by the Light

As many of you have noticed, we’ve been getting some very cruel comments from “Thomas F.” I’m worried about his bitterness and hatred. He seems so angry and lost. I’m sending him love and healing energy, and I hope you all do, too. He doesn’t need our criticism. He needs our help.

The poll results are in! Exactly 76.5% of you guys say that the YouTube comments should be disables and 26.5% say that they should be enabled. I think what I’m going to do is enable them when I feel stronger, but only read them on my best days.

I love it when you guys submit questions for me to ask Erik. The list of questions is pretty long, so it takes a while to get to them, but I promise I do. I think this one is particularly interesting in a creepy kind of way.

Robert: Erik’s blowing raspberries on the inside of his elbow. You know how you blow into the crease of your elbow?

Me: Yeah, Erik used to do that! Some guys never grow up, and that’s a good thing!

Robert laughs.

Me: You ready for some questions, Erik?

Erik (Clapping and rubbing his hands together): I’m always ready, Mom!

Me: All right! Well, first of all, you know that I love you, right?

Erik: You do?

Me: Mm hm.

Robert giggles.

Me: Newsflash! Okay, here’s one that’s a little worrisome. It’s from a blog member. He says that there’s a theory that souls are being “hijacked by the light” and put into another body so that they can’t get to Heaven.

Erik: Mom, it sounds like someone has a lot of fear.

Me: Yeah.

Erik: No one has ever hijacked a soul. The only time someone can rob you of your ability to choose for yourself is when you’re in a physical body. The only time it can be something spiritual is if you allow that other being to do it. So if you come into contact with an entity that wants to cross boundaries and you keep letting it, then that’s about allowing. It’s all about what you allow.

Me: Okay, so as a spirit, have you ever run across a demon or some sort of evil entity?

Erik: We don’t use those words here. There’s no such thing as a being that’s not of the Light. There’s no being of the Dark.

Me: Yeah, they can be part of the light, but the lower, darker end of the spectrum.

Erik: Yeah, we verbalize it in that way to help humans see it because that’s how we define our spectrum. What we might label as a “demon” we don’t see as evil. We see it as an entity that feeds on fear and fearful things. It can’t feed off of those things if you don’t provide it. You have to provide it with fear, so if you’re afraid, they can feed off of that. But they’re not evil. You wouldn’t call a cheetah or a lion evil because it eats small gazelles.

Me: Ah, I see.

Erik: It’s just being what it is.

Me: So have you ever met one that you’re afraid of?

Erik: No.

Me: What do you do if they come up to you?

Erik: They can’t do anything to you if you’re not afraid of them or anything else. If you are afraid of them, then of course they could do something to you. When you’re in the dimension where I am “now”—

Robert: He’s using air quotes again. I don’t know if he does that with Jamie or other mediums, but he does it a lot with me.

Me: Yeah, he does a lot!

Robert: Oh, okay. This is where we should do videos. You can see it. He distracts me when he does things like that, and I lose connection with what he was saying.

Robert listens to Erik for a while.

Erik: So basically, when you’re where we are, you have an awareness of the fact that they feed off of fear. Once you’ve been here for a while and you’re fully awake to that awareness, then you have to choose whether you want that entity to take advantage of you. When some people cross over, they may have experiences that they label as Hell because they haven’t fully embraced the awareness of the dimension they’re in. They’re kind of slowly working their way into it. That could be based on what your belief system is. Maybe you believe you have to battle demons after you die to purge your own demons, to let the other demons suck them all out.

Robert laughs.

Me: But a freshly crossed over spirit might come across a “demon,” and they might be afraid, right?

Erik: Yes, if they’re not fully aware of how that “demon” works.

Me: Well, what’s the worst that can happen?

Erik: They’ll just experience the fear of it.

Me: Oh.

Erik: They can’t be killed by it! They can’t be completely consumed by in the sense that they become that “demon.”

Me: Okay.

Erik: It doesn’t work that way.

Robert: He was trying to put it in another way so that people can understand. He was sending me multiple messages at once, and I had to parse through them. I was like, ‘Wait a minute. Wait a minute! What are you saying?’

Me: Slow down, boy!

Robert: It was something about an immune system. When you think of a demon, it’s just doing its job like certain cells would in an immune system. That might just confuse people if we go through that hole.

Me: No, it’s fine. So eventually, that new spirit will gain the awareness?

Erik: Yeah because—

Robert: Oh! Okay. Erik, that’s great! Erik says,

Erik: Here’s the great thing about it, Mom. The demons themselves, and we’ll use that word for the sake of communication, uh, so say that person thinks he has to go through all this “Hell.” The demons come in and give them what they believe they need to be purged. The purpose for that—and humans believe that everything has to have a purpose—is so that they can get to that awareness that we might call, “Heaven.” So in a way, if you want to label everything as good or bad, the demons are actually doing you a favor.

Me: Ah!

Erik: If they hadn’t come in and given you that experience, you wouldn’t have been able to follow through with that and feel like everything was purged.

Me: Yeah.

Erik: That’s what I was telling Robert earlier about the immune system. It’s like the demons eat up the fear.

Robert: What is a macrophage? He keeps bringing that up.

Me: Those are cells that devour things that shouldn’t be in the body.

Erik: It’s like it eats up the bad stuff in the body.

Me: Exactly, but of course in humans, it’s just the opposite because coming across those “evil” entities will just perpetuate the fear. They would in me!

Erik: Yeah, if you don’t realize they’re feeding off of your fear. The reason it can be perpetuated in your reality is because you’re always just outside the awareness of “Heaven,” and you’re in a denser environment. Fear is the bottom of the barrel, and that’s where humans are. A lot of humans feel that way.

Me: Yeah, sure.

Erik: It’s not that it’s true. It’s just that’s what they believe. That’s part of what compels us to evolve. If you’re in that place where you believe that all there is is fear and density, then it can be perpetuated because that’s what you keep focusing on. Then these demons or evil entities can continually feed off of that.

Me: Okay.

By the way, Erik keeps insisting I post these daily reviews. Hope it’s not too annoying!

I’m just about to finish reading the book, but I couldn’t wait to give you some feedback.

Erik gives a fascinating account in describing what happens to us when we die. With a clear, genuine and communicative voice, Erik walks the reader through his experience of death as it unfolded for him, taking us along a journey that we will all one day take, whether we believe in it or not.

The descriptions of his journey and his transition to the afterlife are detailed and engrossing. His account of the process where he comes to realize the lessons and reasons for his life, the understanding of the ‘whys’ as he puts it, and seeing how the pieces fit like a puzzle and how others are connected and affected by it is not only illuminating, but I feel gives the reader pause to contemplate their own life’s puzzle and the role they have chosen to play, giving much credo to the often said ‘everything happens for a reason’.

The more I read, the more I kept thinking that in my own life I need to trust the process more. At one point, when Erik was having a conversation with his guide, Cawli, soon after his passing, he reflects that she mentioned something that he didn’t quite understand then but has since become self evident, especially to anyone who follows the blog, and may have even become the saving grace in what Erik and Elisa have been through;
“I didn’t know what Cawli was talking about at the time, but she said that together, my mom and I would both become the best versions of ourselves. That’s what we signed up for.”
Erik’s life, his early death, Elisa’s journeys from “skepticism to belief … grief to joy” and from discovering that not only could she continue to communicate with her son again but that they were an amazing team, have all led them towards, as Erik says, “go on to do awesome shit…”
It not only illustrated once again that Erik’s death was not in vain, that there was a higher purpose, but that we too should keep in mind that are our own struggles are meant for a similar purpose.

Erik’s innate ability to be emotionally honest is embedded on every page and at times its effect would make me weep and at others would make me chuckle. Even though I knew him and his story through the blog, I was surprised to find that in many ways, I was able to get know him further. There is a certain vulnerability that comes through in the book that is not always discernible in the blog posts, especially in the paragraphs where he discusses his human life, his relationship with his family and the aftermath of their reactions to his death.

I treasure the insights he provides and knowing he has found fulfillment and joy on the other side as a guide, gives us all hope, that no matter what our disappointments and struggles in this life, we can still have the opportunity to thrive, to learn and do meaningful work in the afterlife.

One more thing Elisa, the dedication you wrote for Kristina is beautiful and made my heart swell with gratitude towards her as well.

Erik, Jamie and you have done a wonderful job with the book. I think Erik might just give new meaning to the ‘dead poets society, but I think he might prefer ‘dead dudes write’. What do you think? 😉

My apologies for the lengthy review, I think my excitement and enthusiasm got the better of me. Hope you don’t mind.
