The Spiritual Benefits of Plants

Thanks for all the questions, guys! Please be sure to keep them about the human experience. I’ve been getting a lot of personal questions for the Ask Erik column. I’m not ready for those yet, though, so if you can refrain from sending those, it’ll make my life easier. Currently, I’m spending around 3 hours answering emails, and it’s just getting to be way too much. We’ll have the Ask Erik questions the first month Monday of every month starting on February 3. I’ll announce it just before a session and it’ll be first come, first serve.

Here’s another poll! Multiple choices are allowed. (Language choice courtesy of Erik)

Me: A member of the blog wants to know more about the effect of plants on the energy body like flower essences and essential oils. He or she put on patchouli oil and they suddenly felt so grounded. They figured it was the oil. I bet a lot of people would like to know more abut the benefits of these things and how they can affect you, spiritually, besides your favorite plant, Erik. (hee hee)  We know more than enough about that.

Jamie laughs.

Erik: But it’s true. It is my favorite plant. It does so much good for people. It just drives me crazy that people don’t want to look at it. The use of plant life, right? Plants have life source. It has a soul, just like we do. So this is natural living instead of chemically made in a lab. Please don’t get me wrong. I think there’s really great chemical shit that’s being made, but mostly, what we have in the world, we have our answers naturally grown in a plant. We gotta get back to that. We gotta find that again. Bark remedies, essences, true—

Jamie (to Erik): Blah, blah, blah! What are you—Slow down!

I chuckle. Poor Jamie.

Erik: Natural essential oils, bark remedies, flower essences—

Jamie: There we go. I think we got ‘em in order.

Erik: Even more like seasonings in your food. Come on; let’s give a shout out for turmeric for being an anti-inflammatory. Let’s give a shout out to green tea, man, for detoxing the body and helping you get healthier.

Me: Oh, is that what it does?

Erik: Yeah. It detoxes. It kind of wakes up your body. Using bark remedies, essential oils, incense, perfume, um, you know, perfumes that aren’t chemically made. I’m talking about the ones that with natural components right now.

Me: Yeah.

Erik: Made fresh from plants. Even if you wake up and rub a rosemary branch all over your neck.

Jamie giggles. I have no idea why?

Me: We have tons of rosemary bushes in my yard, but I always forget to use it for my cooking. I still go to the store to buy it!

Jamie: Oh, my gosh! That’s so funny.

Erik: But what it does, because it has its own life force, it’s easy for your energetic body to sync with it. It’s not having to identify with some chemical that doesn’t have a life force. So it communicates a lot easier. It has its own vibrational qualities. It’s very natural so the body can use that immediately. It can digest it immediately through the nose, even through the touch of the skin—and it can change your vibrational patterns instantly. Now the reason, I think, that it doesn’t have a strong emphasis put on it or that it’s not seen as a valid way of getting your results or gaining something is because most people are so junked up with food or medicine or stress that they’re not going to feel this vibrational shift in their energy. Kudos to the person who said she used Patchouli and said she felt grounded. We know that person pretty much has a clean vibrational body. They probably really take care of themselves.

Me: Is their some consistency? In other words, is Patchouli a grounder in general or does it just work for her? Does it have that effect on everybody?

Erik: It’ll have a similar effect on everyone. Patchouli works on the throat energy, so it helps people speak up, be honest, say your truth. It’s a real openness that’s created. So, let’s say if that woman needed that openness to feel secure and strong, then she would have the result of feeling grounded.

Me: Okay.

Erik: But if the next person is already open and honest and already has those qualities, it’s not going to enhance it and make it better. It’s just going to be a match. They’re not going to have that overwhelming shift. The vibrations will match. It won’t really shift much in that body.

Me: Okay.

Erik: They put patchouli on, and they’ll go, “Eh, I got patchouli on.”

Me: So, they’re already grounded so they won’t feel an effect except that it smells good.

Erik: Yeah. They already have that openness and strong voice, but we could use something different, and it would affect that other person, even crystals and rocks and shit like that.

Jamie (giggling): “Shit like that”?

Erik: You place them on your body or you keep them near your body and it’s going to help change that subtle vibration.

Me: Yeah.

Erik: I don’t know. It’s just awesome.
