Buddhammittee

ST = substitute teacher   B = Buddhamittee and Erik

The Buddha interviews are intriguing; so much so, that I’ve asked The Committee to give more interpretation, another view on Buddha’s Earthly teachings and philosophies. (In the interest of full disclosure, the substitute teacher’s Buddha knowledge and experience are limited to a Thai riverboat pilot who would release the rudder propeller shaft to fold his hands, bow and greet Buddha each time a temple was passed. Of course the boat veered out of control for several seconds and multi-denominational prayers filled the air. Back at the dock I asked the helmsman through the guide interpreter, if that was the best thing; “Buddha will protect” came the smiling answer. Well, he was right; we made it back to the dock.)

Erik:     It’s Buddhamittee; he’s making a cameo appearance so I’m changing the name, temporarily, in his honor.

ST:       The intense energy produced, that either attracts or overwhelms; do you feel it Erik?

Erik:    Yeah, but it’s a great sensation when energy fields like this overlap; it’s not overwhelming at all. Y’all will see!

ST:       You’re not from Texas, are you Erik?

Erik:     There are two kinds of humans; Texans and Texans-to-be.

ST:       So how do I address your Buddhamittee? What name do I use?

Erik:     Buddha’s sitting back reading the paper, legs crossed smiling over this way…

ST:       He isn’t reading it on, like, an iPad or something?

Erik:     ….well, funny you ask, ‘cause that’s what reading is like here and your computers, like iPads, are more and more Earth devices operating like energy fields and information transfer and the way things work here.

ST:       OK man, on the The Committee and Buddha. Esteemed Committee, you have read the several recent Buddha entries here on your iPads….

B:         We were present for the sessions for the visit, we were. We visit all of you here. We enjoy this.

ST:       Why wouldn’t Jamie have seen you?

B:         We do not appear before a person unless requested; we would remind you of a movie very popular in the 1970s, the Exorcist, and a phrase spoken by the devil character when asked by a priest to just move the building, to which the devil replied “that would be a grotesque display of my power.” Even such a low soul as might invade a human body this way can control what you see as your physical properties. As there are some humans with ability to see through their eyes the image we reveal before them; we can withhold this image and keep our presence and its interference from disturbing where we have not been asked to participate.

ST:       The great power is held by all entities in Heaven?

B:         No greater than any of you upon Earth; not at all. You all retain your power; what you choose to have as your surroundings intersect not with this power, this force as the extension of your soul, the field of energy which is all beings. This force of your will, this which controls all things and passes though and around the physical mass of your environment and is not seen. It remains. You are what you are, always everywhere.

ST:       Buddha’s comments about disciplining the mind are interesting. Can you expand?

B:         We recall a movie made some of your years ago in which it suggested police pursuit of criminals for crimes planned; thoughts could be analyzed in advance of the commission of an act and this alone sufficed for prosecution. Curious this was, as it mixes elements of your Earth existence and your true home; indeed such thoughts are able to be read yet this ability, this transparency which permeates all things, is at the same moments what might prevent and make impossible such acts.

Everything that you do begins with your mind; so simplistic this seems, does it not? Yet it is true and so examination of your thoughts, your mind is the understanding of yourself. You might overhear a snide comment about yourself, as you all have, directed not straight at you but about you, and you could take this as critical and unpleasant. Some of you would, and have, in such moments feel urged to speak back. This might be a lesson for the critic or for you; in many cases, it is for you both.

Before you speak out, if you choose to, stop and discipline your mind as Buddha suggests; your mind has spoken to you and you have already spoken. Your words pronounced and air molecules disturbed to make sound are now mere follow through. It is to much benefit for you and also, for your critic, to consider what response you might offer, as your consideration produces all effects in you and your critic; the subconscious mind of he or she who makes negative comments about you; this subconscious mind is the real mind and the Earth manifestation of the soul, it receives your thoughts as you imagine this person and what you would say in response. Would you criticize back? Ignore the comment? Respond gently? Apologize? Respond on paper? If you answer back with words, what might you say? If you ignore what you have heard, could the critic feel need to repeat the process? Would a gentle response benefit the commenter? Would she or he listen? Have you said or done that which incurs apology? If you responded with your thoughts written, it is more likely your words will be taken in than if spoken yet again we would ask, what might you say?

Your mind you can discipline, as many of you have, as all begins and all goes there. Your thinking and reactions examined and considered they should be. Not common yet is this process; not often might any one on Earth examine each thought, each response, each emotion and each words they might use. This great value provides.

ST:       Our Buddha is still there?

B:         Yes. A paper newspaper in his hands.

ST:       I’d like to ask him about press bias, press impartiality.

B:         This there is not; there is expression and interpretation. Discipline your mind; see what is said and look at what you might think. All expression has value in this way. Is there just bias of expression or also bias of interpretation? Both? Look as you might and decide as you believe.

ST:       Esteemed Buddhamittee, the comment about brains not being the complete computer was interesting, as this subject has been touched elsewhere, including “that other website” where the substitute teach is permanent substitute. Can you expand?

B:         We stand back a small step and turn to Buddha for this response, and from him we say, yes, your soul is your essence, it is what you are and is the field of energy. In your body you must conduct through organs to express and perceive, to receive and send out information. Eyes, ears and vocal chords, or for some fingertips, and other ways, all have connection to your brain. This complex mass of tissue is but a platform and your bones and muscles are but tools for your visit. In your experience you know and have met many a great person whose tool chest did not matter. The store of knowledge and experience you have is far beyond what small pieces you might draw through your brains at any moment; for this discipline of your mind is so important. You do not wish to crowd out that which benefits with what blocks, traps and impedes you. Your limited bandwidth can be used for but so much data; your time illusion constricts this. Fill your pipeline with what helps; look at what you place in flow and if you can replace it with what flows better for you, proceed. Until tomorrow!

ST:       Until then, thank you.  You there, Erik?

Erik:     Get goin’ you gotta be in Dallas later.
