This is a recent interview I did on Soul Traveller Radio with host, Karen Swain. It was a lot of fun. It’ll be a podcast, too, and I’ll post that when it’s ready.
Many of you have requested that I interview Nikola Tesla, so here he is!
Me: I hear we have Nikola Tesla here to interview today. Hello, Mr. Tesla.
Robert: Yes, and Paul Walker said he’s going to be polite and let Mr. Tesla go first.
Me: We have a lot of requests for you, Paul, so you’ll be next. Don’t worry. And I appreciate that.
Paul: Thank you, ma’am.
He’s next in line.
Me: Mr. Tesla, thank you so much for agreeing to do this interview.
Tesla: It’s my pleasure.
Me: I first want to ask you what your spiritual mission was while you were here on the earthly plane as Nikola Tesla.
Tesla: My mission was to awaken humanity to a broader experience of what it means to be alive and to understand that everything is a pattern of energy. Past sessions you’ve had with various mediums have been building up to the conversation you and I are getting ready to have—that everything is energy, and every form of energy has its own unique pattern. This is what my purpose was when I was living in the physical world.
Me: Interesting. Can you go into more—?
Tesla: Most of what I focused on had to do with electricity, different kinds of electrical energy.
Me: Okay.
Tesla: But there was much more to it than that. Much of my work was ridiculed, and it took about 100 years or more for people to finally catch up with what I was doing. It was so far ahead of its time.
Me: Reflecting on your life and this very complicated spiritual mission of yours, do you think you accomplished it?
Robert (chuckling): He’s very matter of fact when it comes to this kind of stuff.
Tesla: I accomplished everything I set out to do.
Robert laughs.
Me: You have a lot of humility!
Robert: He has NO problem with confidence!
Me: Well, otherwise, you would not have been able to accomplish what you did!
Tesla: You have to understand that you can’t be insecure about what it is you’re meant to do. You have to project confidence. Some people project confidence in order to mask their fear.
Me: Mm hm.
Tesla: In the physical body I sometimes did that. I was human. But I’m speaking about the confidence, from where I am now, that has no fear involved. It’s just a matter of fact, the truth. This is what I set out to do; this is what I was going to do. If I had had fear attached to that, it would have inhibited me.
Me: So were you a very confident man when you were human?
Tesla: Most of the time. In those moments when I wasn’t confident, I could project confidence.
Me: Okay. You dropped out of school for various reasons, and then you had a nervous breakdown. So obviously your confidence must have hit a major—
Tesla: That’s what I needed at the time. I was projecting confidence to mask my fear so I had this façade that couldn’t hold. Eventually, it was going to blow over. A kettle can only hold so much steam.
Me: Tell me about your nervous breakdown. What happened? Why did you have one?
Tesla: There are different things to look at in the physical world that would push someone in that direction, but I was very driven. That’s number one. If you never give yourself a break, if you never relax, then you never recharge and re-center yourself. Any little thing can tip the balance. But then, the kind of being I am—the soul connected to that physical body—was very driven by energy patterns that a human body is just not able to process.
Me: What do you mean?
Tesla: This is why I was so drawn to electricity and all kinds of patterns of energy. My soul fed those to the body you know as Nikola Tesla. That’s more information than a human body can process. It overloaded my nervous system. I had this overflow of energy flowing through me.
Me: Okay.
Tesla: The brain literally can’t parse through all those energy signals and patterns. With everything else that comes along in a human life, a human experience, because of the challenges we create for ourselves, becomes one too many things. That’s what happened to me.
Me: I’ve heard you worked on very little sleep. They say you had around two hours of sleep a night.
Tesla: Of course, and that goes back to the amount of energy that flowed through my body. I mentioned earlier that I didn’t know how to rest or relax.
Me: Mm hm.
Tesla: I erroneously believed that if I were to go to sleep, I would miss something. There might be something I could have done that I missed because I was sleeping. The physical form and all the things it requires to be maintained, I find quite tedious. From the perspective of that part of me that I identify as spiritual judged it a pointless.
Robert laughs.
Me: Okay.
Tesla: But there is a point to it. I was learning how to integrate play with work.
Me: And did you learn how to do that?
Tesla: By having experienced that kind of life, I learned how to do it.
Me: I see.
Tesla: I eventually learned the value of relaxation and play.
Me: Okay. You were so driven, you said. Was that in part because you wanted to earn your father’s approval?
(Long pause)
Robert: He just gave a very short answer of “yes,” and I was waiting to see if he was going to say more.
Me: Can you expand on that?
Tesla: The prideful part of me didn’t want to be seen as a buffoon.
Me: Okay.
Tesla: So I pushed myself harder and harder and harder to prove myself to, not just my father, but also to many other people. Of course it didn’t work out that way because many considered me to be a quack. They considered me to be even more of a buffoon because I was so out of touch with the reality they were living.
Me: You were so far advanced?
Tesla: Yes.
