Now for the third and final part of the Steve Irwin interview!

Me: Do you have any regrets, Steve?

Steve: No! No, I don’t!

Me: Good! How wonderful.

Steve: Yeah, I’m very lucky to say that out loud.

Me: Yes. Now, can you tell us what your proudest accomplishment was while you were alive, and has that sense of accomplishment changed given your new perspective in the afterlife?

Jamie (giggling): Aw, he’s disappointed that you’re making him choose one.

Steve: Can’t I choose all of them?

Me: Oh, Steve, you can choose anything you want! The floor is all yours.

Steve: My marriage and the birth of my children—those are my greatest accomplishments.

Me: And I suppose that has not changed since you’ve passed over.

Steve: Absolutely not!

Me: Of course not. Now, can you share a past life that most influenced this last one?

Jamie keeps giggling and giggling.

Me: You’re having fun, aren’t you Jamie?

Jamie: I am! He says that c-cranky, uh, crikey! I can’t get that right!

(The phone cuts off, and I have to call Jamie again.)

Jamie: The power here in the office is going on and off, on and off.

Me: Oh, no! Better not be Erik!

Jamie: It’s done it now maybe five times, so I jus turned the air-conditioning off. Hopefully, that will save the machine.

Me: Well, we’re almost finished, s that’s good. So, past life for Steve Irwin. Is he still there or did he leave in disgust?

Jamie (giggling): No, he’s here, He was laughing at me while I was shutting things down and unplugging things.

(Pause)

Jamie (to Steve, laughing): Is this a joke? Okay.

Jamie (to me): He’s talking about a life as an animal, and it is a reptile, but it’s not, um—this is crazy, because it looks prehistoric.

Me: Cool!

Jamie: Kind of like an alligator, but kind of like a dinosaur. Big hinged jaw. He’s describing it in his terms.

Steve: Hinged jaw, scales, upwards of 800 to 1000 pounds of pure, raw meet!

Jamie and I belly laugh. Typical Steve!

Steve: I have vivid images of that lifetime, being a predator and being scared, scared of who was coming after me and scared of those that I was chasing. It was a life of much confusion, and it was only driven out of hunger. I know that if you wanted something bad enough, it you were hungry bad enough, then you could make it happen.

Me: Yeah.

Steve: It was that feeling that I wanted to carry over into this lifetime and start to understand animals more, to be more dedicated to them and treat them, not just with respect, but with intelligence.

Me: Yeah. I can just sense that. So many of us just look at a predator like T-Rex as just mean, but they’re not. They have to kill and eat to survive, and they’re surely scared for their own lives and survival, too. I get that. Now, do you have any messages for us, Steve? Anything else you want to share with the world before we close?

Steve: Crikey!

Jamie (laughing): Do you say that often? I’m going to have to listen to some of his audio now. It’s so stuck in my head!

Steve: If you don’t love what you do, change it. No one needs to hear you verbalize what you don’t like somebody else doing.

Me: Yeah.

Steve: Keep to yourself what is our own personal problem.

Me: Yeah. Erik, do you have anything you want to ask?

Erik: Naw, I’m just having one hell of a good time!

Me: I bet! Okay, well, thank you, Mr. Irwin. You’re just the ball of energy and love I expected you to be.

Steve: Thank you so much; it was my pleasure.

Me: I’ll be waiting for my hug whenever!

Steve: I’m coming over right now.

Moments later, I get strong goosebumps on both shoulders!
