HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!
Here in Canada , we just celebrated July 1st, Canada Day! Although I am Canadian, I always recognize the 4th of July . For me, it is a bit personal. When I was 7 years old, I was on my summer vacation with my family in San Diego California. We have extended family there, but this trip was to say good-bye to my Grandfather. He made his transition into the spirit world on the 4th of July as we watched the fireworks shoot off on the beach. The many sparks and sprays popped off into the evening sky , reflecting against the ocean with the gentle sound of the waves rolling in the background. I remember that moment so clearly, and wondered if Grandpa was watching it with me. I have always felt a special connection to this date, and every firework display reminds me of the beauty of our spirit! Little Fun Fact is That my grandpa was buried in the sanctuary of peace at The Pierce Brothers Westwood village cemetery in Hollywood California. The sanctuary of Love next to him, is Marilyn Monroe! Someday I will share the synchronicities to that , if anyone is interested to hear! How are you spending today? Do you have any memories that come up? From Erik: Some of you will gather with Friends or Family. Some of you will be working, or having time to yourself. Wherever your day takes you, take time to reflect on the good things in your life. Look for the good things in your life. Be in the moment and enjoy a good conversation, make a call instead of a text. Send a card in the mail. Take a walk, even if its a real short one. Connect with your neighbour, connect with your pet. Talk to your plants, share a meal, share a hug and find ways to feel good in the heart and soul today. Communicate with yourself and others with grace and gratitude. Everyone can use a little more love and compassion in the day. When you feel good, it will help others feel good around you too!
