Me: Saying mantras, does it work, or is it just a waste of time? This blog member is talking about reciting mantras hundreds of times with strings of beads like the Buddhist monks do or the Catholics with their rosaries.
Erik: It helps.
Me: Why? Is it the meaning being repeated? Is it belief that makes it real or is it the special sound vibrations that are useful? Good question.
Erik: Oh, my god, it’s all of them.
Me: Really?
Erik: ALL of them.
Jamie (to Erik): Which one do you think is more important?
Erik: It’s the series of words, because that’s what the brain comprehends the most.
Me: The words or the meaning behind the words?
Erik: The meaning. Yeah.
Me: Okay, because sometimes the mantras don’t seem to make any sense. They don’t have meaning behind them, you know? It’s not like you’re saying, “God is good. God is good. God is good” over and over again. Sometimes they’re just sounds.
Erik: If we’re talking about those that don’t have words and it’s just the chant of the sound, then we’re looking at the sound and how it resonates with the energetic field, and the pitch and the tone and how that heals and vibrates the human body. That can take you into a trance state, and in that trance state, you can begin to see into other dimensional worlds—communicate to the Beyond and become enlightened and gain information through that.
Me: Okay. So chanting things like “om” really help your vibration?
Erik: Yes, and it can help align, heal and clean your chakras. Different sounds, pitches and tones affect different chakras. You can learn that shit, you know, like what sounds can help the chakras that are fucked up, and you can check your chakras with a pendulum. If you hold the pendulum over each one, you’ll see if the spin is in the right direction and if the size is normal. They should be around the size of a golf ball. If you find a chakra that’s too big, it means it’s blocked. A chakra can also be too small, but you can heal them in all sorts of ways: specific sounds, tones and pitches, different colors, crystals, herbs. I don’t know why people don’t fix their shit like they should. You brush your teeth everyday, so why can’t you take care of your energy, too?
Jamie has a chart you can get on her site. It shows all of the chakras with their correct spin, what they’re for, what conditions and diseases you can get when each is messed up, and what colors, sounds, crystals and plants will address it. Lot’s of good stuff. Here it is: CHAKRA CHART

Dear Reader,
The journey on which you’re about to embark will take you through stories that are deeply personal and involves a relationship between a mother and her son.
As a physician raised by two atheists, I had no personal belief system about life after death. In a word, I was a confirmed skeptic. As my journey progressed, my mind opened. It is my sincerest hope that yours will open as well and that you will have a greater understanding of your own life and what’s to come ahead.
Although Erik sometimes paints a rosy picture of the afterlife, time and time again he stresses that suicide is not the answer to one’s problems. If you struggle, please understand that the information in my blog and my book is no substitute for professional help. Please click here for a list of resources for help when you find yourself considering taking your own life. Know that they are readily available when you feel that hopelessness and despair that many of us feel from time to time in our lives.
I refuse all donations and ad revenue on the blog. It is my dream to one day establish a nonprofit organization that delivers a variety of spiritual services for those who have lost loved ones to suicide and cannot afford that assistance on their own. It’s a mission of love, sacrifice, and dedication.
Love and light,
Elisa
