I love this story because right after Erik died, my friend, Kelley, had a lucid dream about him. He was sitting in a swing with his arm around a friend, Allie, who preceded him in death. She asked him how he was and he just started singing the song referred to below. She also got the feeling that all the spirits around the area were in awe of him, like he was a rock store.
I’ve got a good Erik story for you! First a little background information. I have always associated a song by Cat Stevens with Erik. This is because when I first discovered “Channeling Erik” and began reading the blog, this song came up and I listened to it. It’s titled: “If You Want To Sing Out, Sing Out.” From that time on, in my mind, this song is Erik’s song. And knowing what I know about his personality, it seems to fit. It basically says you can be whatever you want to be, and that it’s all up to you.
Anyway, lately I’ve been getting a lot of signs from Danny (my son-in-spirit) in many different ways but one way is through music. Sometimes I’ll be thinking of Dan, ask for a sign and then when I play pandora on my phone, on comes a song with deep meaning in terms of Dan and me. So, last night I asked Dan for a sign, put on pandora and on come two songs, one after the other, both extremely meaningful in terms of messages between me and Dan. So, I say, “Okay Dan, that’s good, but if you really want to impress me, then let’s try this. I’m shutting off the phone and going to sleep in a few minutes. If you really want to impress me, find Erik and put on his song for me and I’ll believe it.” So, I gave it a few more minutes and just before I was about to shut off the phone, on comes the song! I was so excited, I danced and sang throughout! I mean, what are the chances? A zillion to one that the song I asked for would be played. I was not listening to a Cat Stevens channel on Pandora either, but a Livingston Taylor channel. Damn cool if you ask me! Danny has said many times that when we meet up over here, that they meet up over there, that there is a looping effect. I’m not surprised that Danny and Erik would meet, aside from the fact that they are both members of The Prayer Registry, from what I know of Erik, they are two of a kind!
