So yesterday I was feeling the overwhelming push (and desire) to drop everything with my husband and go to the Jason Aldean show in Hartford Connecticut. The odds seemed really against us as we really didn’t have the money and needed to get our 3 kids covered for babysitting. I threw it out to Erik as a – should this happen? Question. I began selling some clothes online and within an hour $200 came in. Friends agreed to take the kids and we quickly threw some clothes in a bag. While on the road we booked tickets and a motel room in what looked like an ok area. When we got to the “site” (I’ll call it that) where the motel “should have been” (the frame of an econo lodge was there with shattered glass all over the ground), I got the sense that something DEFINITELY wasn’t right. I approached the office to check in and there was a sign on the door just saying “sold out” written in marker taped to the door. I went into the foyer and could t find anyone. I went outside to tell my husband and there looked to be “shady deals” going on outside one of the rooms. All in all we got the “get the HELL out of here” vibes and in my head all I hear is Erik’s laughing like he’d pranked this part of the trip. We quickly found another hotel and I’m still laughing in my head about the whole thing. I still can’t help but question if Erik had a hand in any of this but it sure was funny and we had the BEST night!
