Superman Erik?

In this post, Erik answers blog member Todd’s question about a discarnate spirit’s ability to communicate to those of us on the earthly plane.

Me: Now, Todd has a question: “I’ve been wondering for a while, now: Has Erik been given special abilities or powers to communicate with this realm?”

Erik (in mock self-importance): Hell, no. I’m just that cool.

Jamie and I laughs.

Me: Well, can all spirits talk? For example, if Todd were to go to you, Jamie, would he be able to have conversations just as easily with his father as Erik and I have?

Jamie listens.

Jamie (laughing): She can’t write that, Erik!

Statements like these always worry me, because I never edit out parts of our sessions!

Erik: Well, he could unless his dad’s a real big dick.

Me: Okay. Well, I’m sure he’s not, because Todd wouldn’t be the cool dude he is if he was raised by a dick.

Erik: Let him know that I’m really driven because of you, Mom. Because of what you’ve created. I really have this desire to fine tune myself to be able to communicate better.

Me: Okay, good. So, anybody has the potential, but…

Erik: Yes, but his dad might not be that into it. That doesn’t mean he loves him less than I do you. But we all can be called and communicated with just to be checked on. It’s not absent/present. It’s not black and white. But it’s just like over there, Mom. You have to have a certain amount of focused intent to do thing and create things and that takes passion and drive.

Me: But would Todd’s father come through?

Erik: Sure, but he might not be a communicative as me.

Me: Well, you are known to be pretty chatty.

Erik: Hell, yeah. I get excited.

Me: Plus, you’ve got a lot to say. I guess that’s why you’re easier to channel than some other spirits, right?

Erik: Yeah.

Me: Okay. So, are you doing okay, Erik? I know you’re busy, but are you too busy? How do you manage?

Erik: I divide myself. No, I’m not too busy. I really want to leave the bulk of me with you. Man, I love the time in the hospital as well, and especially when you leave, I stay behind, because I think that makes you feel better.

This was when my mother was in the hospital for a few weeks.

Me: Aw, yeah. I know. I keep asking my mom when she wakes from a sleep if  she’s seen you, Erik, but she says no every time. Of course with her dementia, she doesn’t remember from one minute to the next. I mean, she never remembers what she had for breakfast even if only 10 minutes have passed since they delivered her tray, so…

Jamie chuckles.

Me: She’s in La-La Land a lot.

Erik: It’s nice for her, because then she doesn’t realize how much pain she’s in.

Me: Good. Good.
