Dear Reader, Although Erik sometimes paints a rosy picture of the afterlife, time and time again he stresses that suicide is not the answer to one’s problems. If you struggle, please understand that the information in my blog and my books is no substitute for professional help. Please click here for a list of resources…
Are You Ailing?
Yesterday, Kristina and I woke up way too late but still had time to go around Dublin on the “Hop on, Hop off” bus. We toured the Guinness brewery and learned pretty useless but fascinating information about how to brew the best beer and even how many bubbles (3,000,000) there are in a pint. I wonder…
Humor and Beauty
This past weekend I was husbandless. A motorcycle widow. Rune left for COTA (the track in Austin) to defy death at speeds over 180 mph. Fortunately, as always, he came back in one piece. Of course he’s covered from head to toe in all kinds of leathers, pucks, back and chest protectors, etc. but I…
Ego
Before we developed this environment we live in now, ego was something that provided that sense of separation and the urge to survival. It’s what was responsible for the fight or flight thing. Then we developed this whole atmosphere of “You’re wrong, and I’m right,” “I make more money than you do,” “I have a loftier career,” “I’m superior; you’re inferior.” It sucks. Now we’re on this runaway train and the ego is diddling with the controls going, “What the fuck do I do now?” Our egos have got us caught on the hamster wheel. Eat or be eaten. Be a winner, not a loser. Our egos also connect us to the past in a way that causes us pain. “Oh, poor me. I was molested as a kid.” You’re attached to the belief that you’re a victim. Well, guess what? You’re not being molested now, are you? If some of you still are, get out of that shit. Let it go. Look at the suffering as a page in a book and turn to the next one.
You Are Important!
Thanks for all the birthday wishes guys!. I actually forgot until some of you reminded me. (Gee, thanks.) Oh, and I think my daughter, Kristina, fixed the email notification problem. See if you start getting the post feeds, and, if you don’t, she added an email subscribe widget on the homepage. Below is a photo…
Join My Daughter and Me in Houston!
On Good Friday, April 18th at 2:00 PM CDT, my daughter, Kristina, is hosting a big event for her famous blog, Pretty Shiny Sparkly. One of the many amazing things about her is that I wouldn’t have the blog if she hadn’t have suggested I start one and if she hadn’t have created this site…
Just to Funny to Not Share
I know this has nothing to do with spiritual stuff, but this video from my daughter’s YouTube channel (PrettyShinySparkly) is just too hilarious to keep to myself.
Beauty, Personalities, and, Yes, Apples
Enjoy the last bit of the final session of 2011! Me: Okay. Here’s another question. What is the spiritual side of beauty and fashion? Erik: Kristina asked this, didn’t she? Me: Yes, of course. Erik: Beauty and fashion bring happiness, and happiness is the core of spirituality, so you focus on the joy of what…
