I have great news, everyone! Blog member, Mike Hulse, tipped me off to a great way to create a mobile-friendly format. So, log into Channeling Erik on your smartphone and check it out. Mike is my new favorite genius. Thanks, Mikey!
Me: If consciousness really works lie a massive computer network, thought takes you from one place, experience or idea to another. What is the relationship between thought and emotion? Computer information is based on numbers and code and nothing means anything unless we decide it’s something. The reader who posed this question said Bashar made the comment that life is meaningless and that’s where we have our power, because we can decide what anything means. So, if we’re all computer programs, how do emotions and the heart fit into that scheme? Where does love come from? Let’s break it down, because this is a long one. First of all, if consciousness really is this massive sea of information—self-aware sentient energy, basically—then what’s the relationship between thought and emotion?
Erik: Emotion is first, and thought is the structure that tries to define the emotions.
Me: Okay. And the computer information is all in numbers and codes and doesn’t mean anything unless we decide it does. Is that true?
Erik: That’s correct.
Me: So, since life is meaningless, is that where we have our power?
Erik: Yes.
Me: So, if it’s all numbers or code, how do emotions and the heart fit in?
(Pause)
Jamie (giggling): His mouth is wide open and his arms are down and he’s like, “Whaat?”
Erik: We’re not computer programs!
Jamie: So, that’s his answer. We’re not computer programs.
Me: So, we’re emotional beings, not computer programs. Even though we’re self-aware, sentient energy, we aren’t defined in code.
Erik: Exactly.
Me: We’re really self-aware, sentient emotional beings made of energy.
Erik: You got it.
Me: Okay. That makes sense.

Dear Reader,
The journey on which you’re about to embark will take you through stories that are deeply personal and involves a relationship between a mother and her son.
As a physician raised by two atheists, I had no personal belief system about life after death. In a word, I was a confirmed skeptic. As my journey progressed, my mind opened. It is my sincerest hope that yours will open as well and that you will have a greater understanding of your own life and what’s to come ahead.
Although Erik sometimes paints a rosy picture of the afterlife, time and time again he stresses that suicide is not the answer to one’s problems. If you struggle, please understand that the information in my blog and my book is no substitute for professional help. Please click here for a list of resources for help when you find yourself considering taking your own life. Know that they are readily available when you feel that hopelessness and despair that many of us feel from time to time in our lives.
I refuse all donations and ad revenue on the blog. It is my dream to one day establish a nonprofit organization that delivers a variety of spiritual services for those who have lost loved ones to suicide and cannot afford that assistance on their own. It’s a mission of love, sacrifice, and dedication.
Love and light,
Elisa
