Since he was old enough to point, Erik has had a fascination with buttons, so much so that we’d laugh and call him “Button Man.” Electronics of any sort were particularly fair game, and he didn’t have to know what that button was for before he pushing it. I think the anticipation of seeing what happened when it was pushed was all the excitement he needed.
Blog member, Nina, experienced Erik’s button fascination first hand yesterday. Enjoy her story, and guard your own buttons!
Hi Elisa,
So here is what happened today:
I parked my car for work in the parking lot at 8am. Then at 10 am I took a break and walked around the parking lot. I saw my car, everything looked normal. Then at 12:00 I took my lunch. As I walked out to my car I saw that my sunroof was completely open! I couldn’t believe it. I wasn’t alarmed though. I kind of knew what happened.
I got in the car and felt the seats. They weren’t too hot, which leads me to believe that the sunroof hadn’t been open that long. The thing that baffles me is to open my sunroof not only do you have to push a button, but you also have to manually pull back the inside covering to even see the glass.
I got in my car with a smile on my face when I heard him say, “I thought you needed some sun!” He was right, it was the most beautiful day. I told him he was quite clever! And then I told him he was loads of trouble! But I love it. He’s one of my greatest little friends. I will know him all the rest of my life. Happily.
Love you, Elisa.
Nina
Since this post, Nina and her little girl experienced another Erik prank. He opened and closed the glass shower door while they were in the shower together! Is nothing sacred?
Now, enjoy Jamie Butler’s interview on Everything Positive Radio. Fascinating stuff. And apparently Erik was giving the two hosts all sorts of advice between segments!
