Enjoy the final segment in the Jimi Hendrix interview, and have a great weekend, everyone!
Me: Obviously, your proudest accomplishment while here in the physical must be your music, right?
Jimi: Yeah, Baby!
Me: Okay. And do you still consider that your proudest achievement now that you’ve crossed over to the afterlife?
Jimi: Yes.
Jamie: He doesn’t even pause.
Me: Okay. Any messages for humanity, Jimi? I really want to give you a voice, so is there anything else you’d like to share with the world?
Jimi (laughing): Well, thank you for wanting me to have a voice, but I’ve had one for a really long time!
Me: Oh, I know! I know! You’re just playing with me, Jimi!
Jamie laughs.
Jimi: Do you mean to ask me what kind of words I’d have on my grave?
Me: That, or what would you like to tell us?
Jimi: If you don’t know what you want, you can’t ask for it.
Me: Yeah! All right, good!
Jimi: I wanna tell people to know what it is they’re looking for so they don’t waste their life.
Me: Very wise words. Erik, do you have anything you want to ask Mr. Hendrix?
Erik (embarrassed): Um, noooooo!
Me: Well, you played a lot of Jimi Hendrix on your guitar and on your iPod. Now you can jam with Jimi, huh?
Erik (shyly): I’m not that good, but sure!
Jamie: He’s a bit embarrassed.
Jamie (to Erik): Erik, you’re not going to ask Jimi what his favorite color or his favorite animal is?
Erik: NOOOOO!
Jamie (laughing): He’s cutting me these eyes, like he wants me to shut up!
Me: Well, because Jimi Hendrix was one of his idols, I guess.
Jamie laughs and laughs.
Me: Well, thank you, Jimi!
Jamie (still laughing): Thank you, Jimi Hendrix!
Jimi: It’s good. It’s all good.
Jamie: He gives you a, oh, it like two fingers and he makes a peace sign. It’s like he’s saying, “Peace out.”
Me: Peace out, Jimi!
Jamie: He walks off and disappears.
Jamie (to Erik, laughing): Erik! That’s the first time I’ve seen you embarrassed!
Me (laughing): That’s so funny!
Erik (to Jamie, teasingly): Get off my back!
Jamie: Don’t worry, I know you love us!
Erik: Yeah, well, for short periods of time, I guess.
Jamie and I laugh.
