Me: Here’s another one from a blog member: Are things like crystals, reiki, colors, EFT, MAP—I don’t know what that is—healing codes, etc., is something inherent or something outside ourselves that heals like the tapping motion of EFT, or is it just thought that does it—the placebo effect, the affirmation behind these techniques? If thought creates reality, then are these things just like sugar pills?
Erik: Nope, cuz even if people don’t believe in it, they can get a huge healing effect from it. But that placebo effect really does work.
Me: Yeah. So, is it external energy?
We over each other, so I defer to Jamie/Erik.
Me: I’m sorry. Go ahead.
Jamie: No, he’s just saying it’s the best mind fuck.
Me: So, there’s this external energy that comes to you to heal you? Is that what you’re saying?
Erik: Yeah, it’s re-patterning. Some of it, like crystals and colors, there is a disruption that you’re inserting into your energetic field. It’s restructuring your energetic pattern.
Me: Interesting.
Erik: That’s like putting sugar in your mouth, you know, eating a bunch of sugar. You’re body is taking in the substance. It’s interrupting the pattern, and it’s changing what’s happening to your body. So, you can dose yourself with crystals and light, color, reiki—all that kind of stuff. Your mind doesn’t have to believe it in. Just let it do its work. It does help when your mind believes in it, because then your mind can pay attention to the subtle energy.
Me: Mm hm.
Erik: All right. So we have sugar. I’m taking that example again. You eat the sugar; you don’t believe in the sugar; you don’t know what the sugar does, and then BOOM, you get this full on physical response. It’s very tangible, what people would call “real”.
Me: Right.
Erik: So, it’s the same with crystals, color, light healing, blah, blah, blah, but it’s the subtle energy. So, if your mind is so fucking busy on another thought, it’s not going to get that big fireworks show like having a mouthful of sugar. If you can change your mind to start allowing subtle energy to react in your body like fireworks, then you’re going to see and sense all of the signs.
Me: Okay. Can crystals, for example—can they do harm? If used improperly, can they disrupt the energy in a negative way, ever?
Erik: I wouldn’t say it disrupts in a negative way, but I will say that it can block the success that you’re trying to get.
Me: So, really you have to know what you’re doing—use the right crystals, pick the right colors, use the healing techniques properly and so on.
Erik: Yeah. It’s kind of best if you know what you’re doing.

Dear Reader,
The journey on which you’re about to embark will take you through stories that are deeply personal and involves a relationship between a mother and her son.
As a physician raised by two atheists, I had no personal belief system about life after death. In a word, I was a confirmed skeptic. As my journey progressed, my mind opened. It is my sincerest hope that yours will open as well and that you will have a greater understanding of your own life and what’s to come ahead.
Although Erik sometimes paints a rosy picture of the afterlife, time and time again he stresses that suicide is not the answer to one’s problems. If you struggle, please understand that the information in my blog and my book is no substitute for professional help. Please click here for a list of resources for help when you find yourself considering taking your own life. Know that they are readily available when you feel that hopelessness and despair that many of us feel from time to time in our lives.
I refuse all donations and ad revenue on the blog. It is my dream to one day establish a nonprofit organization that delivers a variety of spiritual services for those who have lost loved ones to suicide and cannot afford that assistance on their own. It’s a mission of love, sacrifice, and dedication.
Love and light,
