I’m so grateful to Sandy for allowing me to post a recent email she wrote. I found it enlightening, hopeful and healing. Moreover, her comments and hundreds of others I’ve received are a clear indication that we are on the brink of something big…a transformation, an awakening. People seem hungry to discover all that they know on a deep soul level to be true: the nature of the afterlife, the purpose of the human experience, the survival of the soul after death, and more. Please enjoy her story, her insight, her wisdom. Thank you, Sandy.
Elisa,
First and foremost, please know how very sorry I am for the pain you have had to endure. No parent ever imagines having to attend his/her own child’s funeral. It’s completely out of the natural order of life as we imagined it. For you to boldly and lovingly share your experiences with Erik since that day when you had to deal with the unthinkable is courageous. No doubt, you have helped many people experience a healing that could not have taken place without your written and spoken accounts of the life you still get to have with your wonderful son and the experiences he has shared with you about the process of crossing over and life after death (or perhaps better said “life after this life”).
My son, Jacob, was killed in a car accident in the fall of 2006. He was 18 years old and a freshman at the University of Georgia. He was home for a weekend and was on his way back to campus when he drove into a heavy rainstorm on a rural two-lane highway. His vehicle hydroplaned into oncoming traffic. He died on the way to the hospital. Jacob began making his presence known rather quickly. He appeared to a woman only three days after the accident while she was wide awake. He came as a young boy (the age at which she knew him best) and said, “Tell my mom I’m ok and I’m learning a new dance, and I’m dancing with Jesus!” The woman who had this experience would have no way of knowing that Jacocb had just told us tor the very first time that he liked to dance. In fact, he had a video on his cell phone that he had taken at a club near campus and showed it to me multiple times that weekend. Jacob knew I loved to go out dancing with my friends when I was his age. The stories that have since followed are nothing short of incredible. That being said, I have never had any discussions with Jacob while awake as you have had with Erik. Jacob and I have talked in dreams and I’ve heard him say “Hi Mom!” when no one else was around. He has delivered several unique messages to various people in dreams and visions.. These are the things that help us to keep on breathing and taking the next step, especially in the early days, weeks and months.
I have written of our experiences at a memorial website created as part of my healing. It is www.jacobnyenhuis.memory-of.com. If you take a few mins to visit the website, you’ll see that I am a Christian who has held to my beliefs while realizing that God is much bigger than anything we can even begin to describe. I never imagined these things would happen. There are people within the Christian faith that would call my accounts lies from the devil, but I don’t see it that way. I think they have simply limited a limitless and loving God. If you can accept my foundation in faith and move into the accounts of what we and several others have experienced in connection to Jacob, I think you will nod your head in agreement as I have been while reading your accounts. There are some things that are very much alike. My husband encountered Jacob’s presence while running one morning that was similar to a “dream” your husband had. Jacob shared with him the euphoria of his current life. My husband said it was as though Jacob opened a window to Heaven because a rush of wind came. He felt like he was floating and he began laughing and twirling around (which is completely not like my husband).
About 8 weeks after Jacob died, we formed www.j9foundation.org to carry out Jacob’s dreams to one day help people in need. We believe he has been working on the other side to make some really awesome connections for us and to help bring change to the lives of several people in a big way. We are honored to be involved in this work with God and Jacob.
Of course I want to know if Jacob and Erik have connected in Heaven and what Jacob is doing. I’d also love to know about his final moments just prior to the accident and just after, but another sincere question I would ask is “Who is Jesus and what is his role in relationship to God?” How’s that for a hot potato kind of question? I know you’ve had such an overwhelming response to the HP article that you’ve had to stop taking questions, but I thought I’d throw that out there anyway.
Blessings to you from another mom on this long, hard journey,
Sandy
Many readers have shared that they struggle with how the spiritual issues that are shared on this blog and other places might conflict with the belief system of their religion. Please take comfort in knowing that there is no conflict. I have many more questions to ask Erik about this, but basically, he says there is a God. (S)he is a genderless Source Energy of which we are part and whole. Erik describes the relationship between God and individual souls as a hologram. Suppose a big picture of Erik is God. If you break it down to individual pixels or tiny subunits of some type, they are also full pictures of Erik.
Every religion I’m familiar with has stories of great Messiahs like Jesus. Perhaps they are highly evolved souls sacrificing their energy or even their lives to help the progress of other souls. In Christianity, there is plenty of evidence that Jesus believed in reincarnation. Perhaps religious leaders eradicated such references in order to better wield power over the unruly masses. I suppose they thought a belief in infinite chances might encourage some to live sloppily, without integrity. That said, there is room for spirituality, religion and science. If you remove manmade dogma from the equation, you will see that they are one and the same when you really analyze them together. One of the best explanations for the interaction of religion with spirituality can be found in one of my favorite books, Your Eternal Self, by R. Craig Hogan, PhD. Read it. It will change your life.
