Hanging with the Fam

As you know, Erik has visited many members of the Channeling Erik family and  in many different ways. You can see examples in recent posts and in some comments. For instance, today, Steve told me he’s been practicing channeling Erik and his mother for awhile, and Erik finally came through for him. Here’s Steve’s email:

This is going to sound crazy, but I think I finally heard Erik AND my mom last night while lying in bed, relaxed before going to sleep. It was like I was having a conversation with them in my mind. I am still not convinced I made it all up with my imagination, but it still seemed different and fun just the same. I’m going to keep practicing this!

Here’s an even stranger part of the story. Every night, I practice channeling Erik too, and I ask him to visit two people, either members of the blog, family or friends. Last night, one of those I asked Erik to pop in on was Steve. (Trigger Twilight Zone theme) The thing I just don’t get is why this still amazes me. Why  does it still seem so miraculous and unbelievable?

Here’s one from Kano:

About Erik?
I have visits from him too. When I’m channelling I often address my questions to him. And he helps me a lot. I don’t recognize his voice from recordings, but I “feel” it’s definitely him. And yesterday something special happened. I drove J.L. to a summercamp, and while waiting inside for the beginning I looked at him. He was looking a little worried and it made me sad.

Somehow I looked up, and there, under the ceiling was ……. a dragonfly! Immediately I heared the words inside me, “yes, I’m here, I will look after him! And from that moment every now and then Erik pops up telling me J.L. is alright.

It makes me feel so “taken cared of.” And it’s such a new experience that I have to get used to it.

Shortly afterwards, Kano sent me this:

Just after posting my replies this morning I took our dog, Binky, for a walk. I got Erik on my mind and thanked him. Then all of a sudden a big dragonfly was sitting on the ground. It stayed for a while, and Binky was also quietly looking at him. It really touched me!

There are many others, and I hope to hear from those of you who’ve had visits that have not yet been posted. It seems as though Erik is now minding his guides’ advice. Until recently, his visits have been just for fun. He said he gets such a kick out of traveling, and he loves popping in on or pulling pranks on blog members for no reason other than to have fun and to entertain. But after his guides told him to try to visit with more of a purpose, he seems to have taken this to task. Recent visits provide comfort, make us smile, bring our loved ones forward, or show he’s there to take care of us. Sweet boy.

He has continued to play purposeless pranks on members of the immediate family, however, but I relish his playfulness. Here are some recent examples:

1) My sister, Laura, was sitting outside on her back porch the other day with her husband, Jim, thinking about Erik. Suddenly, one of the swings on the playground began to swing. Keep in mind that here in Houston, the weather has been brutal. !03 degrees, 150% humidity, and no, and I mean NO wind. Nevertheless, the swing kept swaying back and forth faster and faster while the one next to it stayed stock still. It was around four in the morning, so there wasn’t a soul around…or was there? In the midst of all this, Laura felt Erik’s playful presence very strongly. She and Jim looked at one another, and, in unison, they both said in a knowing voice, “Erik.”

2) When we were camping on Lake Travis, Erik would not be left out. He loved our long weekends there, dragging our fifth wheel RV and boat, doing face plants while wakeboarding, skidding on the surface of the water like a human hockey puck while tubing behind the boat, and sitting around the fire at night talking about nearly everything. On the last day, Rune was hosing off the boat at the campsite when the flow of water suddenly stopped. He thought perhaps the hose had kinked when he pulled on it. He had just turned the faucet on all the way and had spent perhaps 5 minutes spraying off the lake grunge with the water at full force. But no, there was no kink. The faucet was turned completely off. What a jokester.

3) A few days ago, Erik also paid a visit to his sister, Michelle, while she was doing her nails. After removing the polish before applying a fresh coat, she left two cotton balls on the table. When she blew a piece of lint off of that same table, one of the cotton balls flew off and onto the floor. She made a mental note to pick it up after her nails were completely dry, but a couple of minutes later, the cotton ball was back on the table right next to the other one. Moments before, the lamp in her bedroom had inexplicable turned off. Someone had unscrewed the bulb. During the entire time, no one was in the apartment except her. All she could do was smile and say, “ERIK, CUT IT OUT!”

I say, “bring it on, Erik!” Come visit any of us as often as you can in any way you want, purposeful or just for fun. So if any of you in the Channeling Erik family feel like you need company, if you long for word from a deceased love one, or if you’re just in the mood to play, give Erik a “ring.” I’m sure he’ll oblige you with a visit, a mischievous smile, or  perhaps even his infamous noxious smells.
